Summer celebrations at Glebe Barn

There’s something about a summer wedding that puts everyone in the mood for a proper party, and our evening at Glebe Barn Weddings was no exception. Set on the Devon and Cornwall border, it provided a brilliant setting for a relaxed celebration followed by an evening of live music.

We arrived as the daytime celebrations were drawing to a close, with the speeches followed by the cake cutting before it was time for Agent Funk to get everything ready for the evening.

As a Wedding band Bristol couples can book for celebrations across the South West, this is the part of the day we love. The formalities are over, everyone can relax, and attention starts turning towards the dancefloor.

From first dance to full dancefloor

The evening music began at 6.30pm with the couple’s first dance, Layla by Eric Clapton, played through our PA before Agent Funk launched straight into the first live set.

Going directly from the first dance into live Soul and Funk is a brilliant way to move the evening from romantic to party mode without losing any momentum. It’s exactly the kind of atmosphere that makes live wedding music bands such a memorable part of a celebration.

After an hour of live music, our Funk and Soul playlist kept the tunes flowing during the break. We then returned at 9pm for another hour of live music before handing over to the couple’s own Spotify playlist to continue the party.

For couples comparing Wedding bands Bristol has to offer, that combination of a great first dance, live musicians and plenty of Funk makes for a pretty special summer evening.

Soul, Funk and plenty of party energy

Agent Funk is all about giving weddings a live soundtrack with personality. As a Bristol function band, we love evenings where the formal side of the wedding gradually gives way to dancing, music and a proper party.

There’s a reason couples looking at Bristol bands for hire often choose live music as part of their evening. A band brings a different dynamic to the room, and Soul and Funk give us plenty of opportunities to turn that energy up.

We’re always delighted to head out across the South West for weddings, but Bristol remains home. From our local venues to landmarks such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge, it’s a brilliant corner of the country to be based in when your job involves providing the soundtrack to celebrations.

We’ll leave it to other people to decide who deserves to be called one of the best wedding bands in Bristol. We’re much happier plugging in, turning up the Funk and letting the dancefloor do the talking.

Another brilliant Agent Funk wedding

A big thank you goes to everyone involved in bringing the celebration together. Photography and videography were provided by I Do Film and Photos, From the Wild was the florist, and the team at Glebe Barn Weddings provided the catering. And florist From The Wild.

For Agent Funk, wedding band hire Bristol and celebrations across the South West give us the chance to do what we enjoy most: play Soul and Funk, bring some serious party energy and help create an evening that guests will remember.

From the opening notes of Layla to the final live set, this summer wedding was another great example of what happens when you combine a fantastic celebration, a room full of people ready to party and a live band ready to bring the Funk.
