Summer weddings always create an incredible atmosphere, and this celebration at The Mead was no exception. Set amongst the Oxfordshire countryside, the venue provided a beautiful backdrop for an unforgettable evening, with guests gathering beneath a stylish marquee ready for a night of music, dancing and celebration.

After arriving in the early evening, we set up and completed our soundcheck before enjoying a delicious meal kindly provided by the couple. It was also a pleasure to work alongside a fantastic team of suppliers. Photographer Liga captured every special moment, Lizie created the beautiful floral displays, Regi ensured guests enjoyed fantastic food throughout the day, while Tim and the team from Harlequin Marquee Hire transformed the grounds into a stunning reception space. With everyone working together, the evening flowed effortlessly.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was performing the couple’s first dance live. They chose the timeless classic Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding, a song that never fails to create an emotional moment. Seeing family and friends gather around while the newlyweds shared their first dance together was a real privilege, and it set the perfect tone for the celebrations that followed.

As soon as the formalities were over, the dance floor quickly filled as we launched into two high-energy live sets packed with soul, funk and party favourites. Between sets, the couple’s own Spotify playlist kept the atmosphere buzzing until it was time for everyone to head back onto the dance floor.

From the opening song to the final encore, the guests brought incredible enthusiasm. Every generation joined the celebrations, creating the kind of lively dance floor that every wedding hopes for. The energy never dipped, and it was fantastic to see so many people enjoying themselves together.

Looking back, this was one of those weddings where everything came together perfectly. Wonderful guests, an outstanding supplier team, fantastic food and an energetic dance floor combined to create an unforgettable celebration from beginning to end.

As we travelled home towards Bristol, we reflected on another fantastic summer wedding and another reminder of why we love performing together. Passing close to Brandon Hill, one of Bristol’s oldest parks, seemed like a fitting end to a memorable day before arriving back home. We would like to thank everyone involved for making us feel so welcome, and we wish the happy couple every happiness for the future.
